Mitch D. Gliner is a 1984 graduate of New York Law School. He is admitted to practice in Nevada, Connecticut and New York. He has represented consumers from all over State of Nevada including Clark County, Nye County, Lincoln County, Esmeralda County, Mineral County, Lyon County, Douglas County, Churchill County, Eureka County, White Pine County and residents of Las Vegas, Henderson, Winchester, Paradise, Spring Valley, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Carson City, Reno, Elko, Sparks, Lake Tahoe, Fallon, Laughlin and Silver Springs. In Mitch Gliner's Las Vegas practice he regularly represents victims of credit reporting errors, theft of identity and debt collection abuse. Mitch Gliner handles both individual and class actions. He has represented hundreds of consumers against credit reporting agencies (including Equifax, Experian and Trans Union), banks, credit card companies regarding disputed credit errors. He has also helped consumers who have been victims of identity theft and the subsequent credit reporting errors.

Mitch Gliner is a former Marine Captain. His Marine Corps service included both that of military prosecutor and Company Commander.

Since 1994 Mitch Gliner has confined his practice to consumer litigation involving credit reporting disputes and debt collection abuse. His most notable case, Nelson v. Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp., 282 F.3d 1057 (9th Cir. 2002), was the first decision by a Federal Court of Appeals which empowered individuals to personally sue companies which furnish inaccurate information to credit reporting agencies. The case involved the obligor on a Chase Manhattan Mortgage who did not file bankruptcy having the bankruptcy of the co-obligor reported on his credit report.

Mitch Gliner has helped hundreds of Nevada consumers with credit report disputes, credit report errors, and theft of identity issues through credit litigation using statutes including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Mitch Gliner warns consumers to be wary of any credit repair firm that claims it can effect credit repair or credit restoration with some magical credit repair process or form. Many credit repair firms are scams that do nothing to restore your credit.

Mac Intyre Co. of Nevada, Inc., 969 F. Supp. 609 (D. Nev. 1997), Perez v. Telecheck Services, Inc., 208 F.Supp.2d 1153 (D.Nev. 2002), Uhlig v. Berge Ford Inc., 257 F. Supp. 2d 1228 (D.Ariz. 2003) and Taylor v. Bryant, Inc., 275 F. Supp. 2d 1305 (D. Nev. 2003).

Mitch Gliner has lectured locally and nationally on curbing debt collection harassment through the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and eliminating credit reporting errors through the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
